Conservationists have reported finding the bodies of over a dozen whales in Argentine seas during the past several weeks.
(CNN) – Dead whales number in the double digits and have been discovered along the Argentine shore.
The Whale Conservation Institute reports that the first whale was discovered on September 24 in Chubut’s coastal waters.
Whales photographed in shallow water or on land appear to be lying on their bellies.
According to Agustina Donini, the field coordinator of the whale monitoring program, no injuries have been seen in the whales.
What happened to the animals is still a mystery, but the group intends to keep digging.
