On Thursday, a man was charged with killing someone in Dayton with a gun in February 2023. Montgomery County Regional Dispatch said that Dayton Police and Fire were sent to the 1900 block of Shaftesbury Road around midnight after reports of a shooting.
This was reported by News Center 7. Lafeon Hamilton, 35, of Dayton, Ohio, was shot, and his shooter ran away from the scene.
The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office said that Hamilton died at the scene where he was hurt. Terrill Nelson, 33, was later found to be the shooter by Dayton police.
The automatic licence plate readers in Dayton were able to find Nelson in the end. Officers tried to stop the suspect’s car, but Nelson drove away recklessly. This led to a police chase, with several cruisers following Nelson.

“Officers used tools and techniques to reduce the danger the suspect posed to the community in order to stop the chase. They used devices to deflate the tyres and a technique called “Pursuit Intervention Technique” to stop the suspect’s car, Lieutenant Steven Bauer said.
Nelson was taken to the Montgomery County Jail and charged with two counts of murder, two counts of aggravated assault, one count of grand theft, and two counts of not following an officer’s order or signal.
Nelson was charged with animal cruelty before when he shot and killed his mother’s cat. Tuesday, March 7, is when the accused is due in court.
