The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department arrested a Puyallup police officer on Thursday night on suspicion of third-degree rape, the Puyallup Police Department said Thursday night.
The PPD says that the arrest is because of something that happened off-duty in October 2022. The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department looked into the matter.
In a news release, Pierce County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Darren Moss said, “As soon as we had enough evidence to make an arrest, we told the Puyallup Police Department and worked with them to hold the suspect.” “We arrested him right away, before he could go to work his next shift.”
The 32-year-old officer was fired from the police force as soon as he was taken into custody.
The officer was hired on August 8, 2022, according to the police. He had never worked alone as a police officer because he was still in training when he was caught.
