A statement from the Justice Department on Tuesday said that Larry Giberson, 21, of Stafford, was one of the rioters who repeatedly attacked police officers who were stationed at the “tunnel” entrance to the Capitol on the Lower West Terrace.

Giberson has been charged with felony civil disorder and related misdemeanours under federal law after admitting to the FBI that he was the person in several online photos and videos that showed him at the Capitol during the riot. The FBI says that Giberson was wearing a blue baseball cap that said “TRUMP: Make America Great Again,” a black and grey gaiter with the American flag on it, and a Donald Trump flag around his neck.

The statement said that one officer was crushed between a door and a shield held by a rioter while Giberson was at the front of the group of rioters and pushed against officers together with other rioters.
