At the age of 92, Adelaide Hall passed away from natural causes in the early hours of November 7, 1993, in the Charing Cross Hospital in London, England.

She was buried next to her mother at the Cemetery of the Evergreens in Brooklyn after her burial was performed in New York at the Cathedral of the Incarnation in Garden City, New York. Her requests were respected and this was done as per her request.

Adelaide Hall was born to Elizabeth and William Hall. At the Pratt Institute, where Adelaide and her sister Evelyn attended classes, William Hall taught piano. She lost her father on March 23, 1917. Three years later, on March 25, 1920, Evelyn died of influenza, leaving Adelaide to take care of both her mother and herself.
Hall married Bertram Errol Hicks in 1924; he was a British sailor who was born in Trinidad and Tobago. Soon after their wedding, he took over as her official business manager and launched “The Big Apple” in Harlem, New York. To establish herself, she worked incredibly hard.
