The Otaku of Kotaku will be attending Anime Expo this weekend (and if you’re like me, the thought of attending the “largest celebration of Japanese pop culture in North America” can leave you feeling a little overwhelmed).
Never fear! Here’s a rundown of all the major panels taking place over the course of the four-day convention in case you have no idea what the great congregation of weebs has in store for you or how to make the most of your time there.
Last year’s Anime Expo, held at the Los Angeles Convention Center from July 1 to July 4, unveiled a slew of trailers and details for upcoming anime series like Chainsaw Man, Mob Psycho 100, and Trigun Stampede. This year’s convention plans to keep the excitement going by including numerous must-see events.
This list will only cover when and where major anime studios will host panels and meet with attendees, but attendees may also enjoy live music from DJ Diesel (that’s Shaq by the way), learn to use a samurai sword, and discuss LGBTQ+ topics in Sailor Moon.

Must-See Sessions (COVID-19 Safety Protocols in Effect)
The event’s health and safety standards state that proof of covid vaccination or a negative test result was required at last year’s expo, but is not required this year. Visitors at the Los Angeles Convention Center for Anime Expo were “strongly recommended” by the convention to get immunized or get a booster shot and to wear face masks.
