Though the release of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is still a ways off, fans have much to look forward to in the meantime. Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi, The Legend of the Ten Rings) will direct the picture as part of Marvel Phase 6, with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania screenwriter Jeff Loveness penning the story.
Beyond that, though, there is not a lot known about Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. However, we have compiled all you need to know about Avengers 5 so that you may catch up in the meantime. Thanks to the comics (and Quantumania), we know when it will be released and what it will be about. This implies that if you haven’t seen Ant-Man 3, you should probably stop reading now. Check out our comprehensive guide for all your Avengers 5 needs.
Avengers: The Kang Dynasty Release Date
If there are no changes, the scheduled release date for Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is May 2, 2025.
The tweet below confirms the release date of Avengers: The Kand Dynasty:
Originally scheduled for release on November 7, 2025, Avengers: Secret Wars has been pushed back to May 5, 2026, a full year after the release of the fifth film.
No release date has been set, but we do know that Jeff Loveness (Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania) is penning the story and that Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi, The Legend of the Ten Rings) will helm.
The cast of “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty”
Kang the Conqueror, originally played by Jonathan Majors (under the He Who Remains name) in the first season of Loki, will most likely return for Kang Dynasty.
In Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Majors portrayed Kang and his many Variants. Kang the Conqueror’s comic book history suggests that the Fantastic Four (whose new film will launch Phase 6) and their enemy Doctor Doom may make cameo appearances.
No more casting information has been announced, although we can probably count on seeing a few recognized faces. Considering his adventures between dimensions, Doctor Strange is a plausible guess, and Loki is a strong possibility given that he has already seen a version of Kang.
Since Kang still has some unresolved issues with Ant-Man from Quantumania, he is another possible choice. Due to their individual involvement in the ongoing Multiverse Saga, the new Avengers could comprise the Fantastic Four, Shang-Chi, the new Black Panther, Ironheart, and Daredevil.
However, we will keep you posted as soon as names are verified for the final cast, which is unlikely to be known until much closer to release.

Is a Sequel to “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty” Likely?
The Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is, in fact, the first half of a two-part saga. Part two is titled Avengers: Secret Wars (2026) and is based on the popular comic book series of the same name.
Although there are two separate comic book events with the same name, “Secret Wars,” the upcoming film is widely likely to be based on the 2015 plot, which is so huge and grandiose that even die-hard fans find it unadaptable. Despite this, Marvel will attempt the impossible once again on May 6, 2026, a year after The Kang Dynasty, with the release of Secret Wars in theaters.
