Marvel Studios’ BLADE Release Date and Who is In The Cast?

Fans of Marvel, we now have additional information about Blade!

There were some bumps on the road for the vampire hunter epic in 2017, what with the news that production had been halted and a new director was needed.

Deadline reports that Yann Demange has signed on to helm and that two-time Oscar winners Mahershala Ali and Mia Goth have joined the cast.

Although details regarding the plot of the reboot are scarce, the origin of Blade—a half-vampire named Eric Brooks who is hellbent on eliminating all bloodsuckers with the help of his talents and supernatural abilities—should make for an interesting addition to the MCU.

Marvel’s presentation at the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con was where details about the upcoming Blade reboot were first revealed.

But what will Ali’s new Blade be like? Who is in the cast, and what have we heard so far? Read on to learn everything that has been revealed thus far about the Blade remake.

BLADE Release Date

On September 6, 2024, Blade will finally hit shelves. The film was originally scheduled for release on November 3, 2023.

The tweet below shows the release date of Blade:

In addition to being a part of Phase 5 of the MCU and The Multiverse Saga, the 2023 release date was revealed during San Diego Comic-Con 2022.

The film’s director Kevin Feige and star Mahershala Ali made the announcement during the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con.

After a number of setbacks, Feige just announced that filming would commence this summer. It’s going nicely,” he proclaimed to Entertainment Weekly. Yann [Demange], the head of our production company, is currently in Atlanta. In roughly 10 weeks, cameras will be installed.

Casting for the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Reboot of “Blade”

Casting for the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Reboot of Blade

Mahershala Ali will take the helm as Blade in the Marvel Cinematic Universe remake. Actor Mahershala Ali approached Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige about playing Eric Brooks in the MCU after his success in Moonlight, Green Book, and his portrayal as Cornell Stokes/Cottonmouth in Luke Cage.

Marvel didn’t initially want to produce Blade, but Feige was able to change their minds thanks to Ali’s enthusiasm and skill. However, Marvel will find another stellar cast to star alongside Ali, including maybe Midnight Sons members Moon Knight (Oscar Isaac) and Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), as well as other MCU characters.

Werewolf By Night’s Elsa Bloodstone (Laura Donnelly), Man-Thing, and Jack Russell (Gael Garca Bernal) all exist in the same Marvel monster universe that the Daywalker does, thus they may make an appearance. Werewolf by Night’s wall-mounted vampire heads were another obvious clue.

Take a look at the latest movies we have provided below:

In addition to Ali, Blade features Delroy Lindo (Da 5 Bloods) and Aaron Pierre (The Underground Railroad) in unspecified roles. After meeting him in the Eternals post-credits sequence, Ali’s Blade may also return as Dane Whitman (who becomes Black Knight in Marvel comics continuity), played by Kit Harington.

Is There a Trailer for the New Blade Film?

Since production on the upcoming Blade film has not yet begun, there has been no trailer released.
