Let’s see Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Players, With the release of Call of Duty: United Offense in 2004, the Call of Duty series finally opened the door to a new era of intense online multiplayer action. From then on, the fan base would grow a lot, and the COD franchise would host a number of international tournaments that would solidify it as a competitive shooter. But even though most players like playing online multiplayer, some would rather play with their friends on split-screen.
Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Players
According to Steamcharts, the most people who played COD MW2 through Steam at one time was 488,897 in November 2022. “MW2” has the most people playing it on Steam out of all the Call of Duty games. This is a lot more than the next most popular Call of Duty game, “Black Ops 3,” which had a peak of 63,681 players on Steam.
Many people probably play “MW2” on consoles like the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, so the number of players on Steam is probably just a small part of the total number of players. But it’s hard to guess how many people use these consoles because the developers don’t share that information.
We can, however, get a rough idea. Activision confirmed that the game sold more than $1 billion worth of copies and that more than 10 billion games were played in its first 10 days. Based on how much the game costs (up to $99 USD), we can guess that at least 10 million copies of COD MW2 have been sold.
So there are at least 10 million people who play it. Since Activision hasn’t officially said how many people are playing, estimates like this are the best way to figure out how big it is. Setting up Split-screen
Gamers should remember that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 only supports two players. This is different from the early days of split-screen when up to four players could play at the same time. So, players will need either an extra controller or a keyboard and mouse to set up split-screen multiplayer. Once the player connects the extra device, they will have to link it to an Xbox or PlayStation profile.
They can then use an existing profile on the console or log in with their own account.
Now, players can start MW2, and when they get to the main menu, the second player should press the button asked for (X for PlayStation, A for Xbox, or Space for K/M) to join the game.

At this point, the second player must either sign into their Activision ID profile or play without one. When a player logs in with their Activision ID, they can access all of their weapons, field upgrades, and loadouts based on their player rank.
But players who don’t want to use an Activision ID will have to use the default loadouts, which don’t always have the best tactics or perks. until you read about How To Do Setting Up Split-screen? but in next paragraph, we read about the game modes of Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

Game Modes
At launch, Modern Warfare II Multiplayer has two different types of modes, called Core Map modes and Battle Map modes, based on the type of map they are played on.
Core Map Modes (6v6)
Free-for-All: Get rid of everyone. The game is over when the first player gets rid of 30 other players. The top three players win.
Team Deathmatch is the most basic version of Call of Duty®. Work together to get rid of the other players and reach the score limit. The game is won by the first team to get rid of the other 75 times.
Dominance: Try to take control of the three flagged zones A, B, and C. Over the course of one round, points are added to zones that have been taken. The game is over when the first team gets to 200 points.
Hardpoint: Take control of the Hardpoint and keep it safe from attacks. Every minute, the location of the Hardpoint changes, and the last 10 seconds of each zone show where the next Hardpoint will be. The game is won by the first team to get 250 points.
Headquarters: Work to take the Headquarters, then dig in and defend. The team that has the HQ can’t come back from death. As soon as the HQ goes offline, a new zone is chosen for the next one. The game is won by the first team to get 200 points.
Control: Take turns to attack and defend two goals. Each team has 30 lives that they share. If the team attacking is able to complete one goal, they will have more time to finish the second. By letting the time run out before the objectives are taken, the team that is defending can win the round. Either team can also win by taking away all of the other team’s 30 lives. The game is over when the first team wins three rounds.
Prisoner Rescue: Find the hostages and get them out alive, or do everything you can to stop them from getting out. No coming back. Team resuscitations are possible. Each hostage is worth 100 points, so the Attackers must find two and either take them out or keep them safe at the extraction point.
The defenders must stop the attackers from taking the hostages and keep them in their spawn area until the round is over. Each hostage that isn’t taken or carried by the attackers is worth 50 points. The game is won by the first team to get 500 points.
Knock Out: Both teams fight over a bag of Cash in the middle of the map. No coming back. Team resuscitations are possible. Get the Cash by running over it. The round goes to the team that has the bag at the end of it or gets rid of the whole other team. The game is over when the first team wins five rounds.
Teams take turns defending and destroying an objective in Search & Destroy. No respawning. Attackers win a round if they get rid of all the defenders before, during, or after the bomb is planted, or if they plant a bomb that goes off.
Defenders win a round by getting rid of all attackers before the bomb is planted, by not letting the bomb be planted within the round’s time limit, or by defusing the bomb after it has been planted. The game is over when the first team wins six rounds.
Modes of Battle Maps (Up to 32v32)
In Ground War, two teams of 32 players each face off on a large map to take an odd number of objectives. This is a bigger version of Domination, with vehicles that can be used in epic fights. The game is won by the first team to get 250 points.
Ground War: Invasion is a huge, chaotic battle where players and AI fight side by side. You can get the upper hand over your opponent by using vehicles, Killstreak crates, and armoured agents. The game is over when the first team gets to 2,000 points.
