Mary Higgins Clark, a famous author who passed away in 2020, had a daughter named Clark. The pair wrote four books together.
Who Killed Amy Lang, starring Carol Higgins Clark premiered on Good Morning America in 1975. She starred in the film adaptation of her mother’s novel A Cry in the Night and appeared in the play Uncommon Women by Wendy Wasserstein.
Her most notable work is an 18-book series about private investigator Regan Reilly that has been adapted into multiple TV movies. She was in all of them.
In 1992, at the age of 36, she had her debut novel released. She was considered for both the 1992 Agatha Award and the 1992 Anthony Award for Best First Novel for her work on that book.
In addition to acting, Clark also worked as a voice actor and narrator of audiobooks. As of 2016, she is a member of the New Jersey Hall of Fame. Her mother, who was honored in 2011, introduced her to the audience.
Her siblings Marilyn, Warren, and David Clark, as well as her nieces and nephews, will carry on her legacy.
According to her obituary, a wake will be held on Monday at the Frank E. Campbell Funeral Chapel on Madison Avenue in New York City. On Tuesday, at the Church of St. Vincent Ferrer on Manhattan’s Lexington Avenue, a Funeral Mass will be performed. After the funeral, the body will be taken to Calvary Cemetery in Woodside, Queens.

Born on July 28, 1956, in Manhattan, Carol Ann Higgins Clark spent much of her childhood in Washington Township, a small town in northern New Jersey. When she was 8, she lost her father, a sales manager for Capital Airlines.
After completing her degree at Mount Holyoke in 1978, she went on to train at the Beverly Hills Playhouse.
Cory Lidle, a pitcher for the New York Yankees, and his flight instructor were murdered when their small plane collided with a building on the Upper East Side in October of 2006. Ms. Clark’s apartment, located one floor below the point of impact, sustained significant damage. Unfortunately, she was not at her residence.
Most recently, she called West Hollywood home, and she was involved with nonprofits in the Los Angeles area that provided relief to the homeless and individuals with disabilities. She participated in a PSA recording session for a charity studying appendix cancer.
Marilyn, Warren, and David are the surviving siblings. In 2020, Patricia, a sister, passed away.
Ms. Clark regularly attended a mystery writers’ lunch once a month. Once, novelist Warren Murphy polled his readers to find out what noise they’d hear if they were home alone at 3 a.m. and describe it. To him, the best answer was, “A toilet flushes.”
In short order, Ms. Clark found herself spending the night alone in her mother’s New Jersey home. The elevator’s ringing drew her attention. She said, “I ran out of that house so fast” before telling police about the incident. The elevator, she discovered, always goes back down to the second floor.
“That’s the type of stuff you try to pick up as a writer,” she told an audience in 2014, “because that’s the scary stuff.”
