Jasen Authorities identified Michael Hudgens, 44, his wife Marla Jordan Hudgens, 40, and the couple’s three children, Christopher, 3, and twin twins Gwen and Faye, 6 months old, on Thursday as the missing persons. Christopher is the oldest of three children. Gwen and Faye are twins. Michael Hudgens is 44 years old.

Authorities have stated that Jasen Hudgens is the only person of interest in the homicide investigation and that he was found with a gunshot wound to the head that appeared to have been self-inflicted by him. They also stated that he was discovered with a gunshot wound to the chest that appeared to have been self-inflicted by him.

According to her friend Brett Hagerty, who spoke with the radio station, she never indicated that she felt intimidated, worried, or horrified at any point throughout their conversation. “She never once gave us any indication that she felt terrified or uncomfortable,” he added. “We never received any indication from her.”

Early evidence suggests that there were open propane tanks inside the residence and a gas line that wasn’t tied to a kitchen appliance when the event occurred; however, the police have not yet finished their investigation into the specifics of what led up to the tragedy, so they are unable to comment on whether or not these factors played a role.

It was speculated that the babysitter for the Hudgens called emergency services after entering the home on Wednesday morning and finding one of the deceased victims inside.

After receiving allegations of a possible gas leak, authorities responded to the location and discovered the presence of gas at the property. They indicated that the gas had been there for some time. The incident prompted the dispatch of police officers, firefighters from the city, and personnel trained to deal with hazardous chemicals.

Authorities from law enforcement agencies did not enter the house for a significant amount of time because they were concerned for their safety. However, they reported finding the five bodies somewhere about lunchtime after the house had been secured.

“Not only is this devastating to the first responders that had to respond and witness what’s inside, but this neighborhood is very close-knit including the extended loved ones and family members that are related to this home and this residence,” said Sgt. Melissa Soliz, a police spokesperson who called the incident “a complete tragedy.”
