A contentious bill that would prohibit physicians and other healthcare professionals from providing treatments like hormone therapy and puberty blockers to transgender kids could receive final approval from the Florida House next week.
The topic (HB 1421 and SB 254) will be discussed in the House on Tuesday during a floor session. The bill was approved by the Senate on April 4. The proposal would, in large part, codify state medical board-approved regulations that would forbid doctors from administering the therapies to minors.

Also on the agenda for Tuesday’s floor session is the House’s consideration of HB 1423 and SB 1438, which would prohibit kids from attending drag shows, and HB 1521, which would prohibit transgender men and women from using bathrooms that don’t correspond to their assigned sex at birth.
