Daredevil: Born Again, a new series on Disney Plus, will take viewers back to the seedy underbelly of New York City. Marvel Studios’ reimagining of the critically acclaimed Netflix series Daredevil, which concluded after three action-packed seasons in 2018, features the return of Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, aka Daredevil.
Marvel’s Daredevil is a lawyer by day and a vigilante in the evenings in midtown Manhattan. As a child, he lost his sight in a chemical accident, yet the experience gave him extraordinary skills. Fans were thrilled to learn that the man without fear would be returning with his program as part of the MCU’s fifth phase after seeing him in previous Marvel projects.

Does This Daredevil Relate to the One on Netflix?
Fans of both the original series and The Defenders Saga are eager for Daredevil’s comeback. However, keen viewers of She-Hulk have noted that this Matt Murdock isn’t behaving like the one we’re used to. The shows share some similarities, but their tones couldn’t be more different.
Recent interviews with Charlie Cox have shed light on some of these issues and questions. Cox has commented on these changes in tone, adding that he is having a “really good time” figuring out where this Daredevil fits in with the modern world. That may indicate that we are rewatching the same Daredevil from the Netflix series. This is the entirety of Charlie Cox’s response to the inquiry.
“It should be and it is always the same character. The difference is just like with people, we morph and change and are very different based on what’s going on in our lives. The Matt Murdock from the Netflix show, that world and what was going on for Matt meant that most of the time we were living with a man who had a huge amount of pressure and strain, and tonally the show was very dark and gritty and heavy. I don’t know what the new show will be like, but when I came over to do Spider-Man and She-Hulk, the tone is much more lighthearted and tongue in cheek and fun and witty and full of levity, so the hope was that Matt can fit into that world and participate in it without it being a different character, a different person. I certainly had a really good time exploring that, experimenting with it, and seeing if it fit.”
