Jeen-Yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy is a documentary film that looks at Kanye West’s life and work.

The three-part Netflix documentary follows the rapper as he develops from a promising young artist into a cultural legend.

West’s late mother, Dr. Donda C. West, was a major influence on him; in fact, his two most recent albums, Donda and Donda 2, are titled in her honor.

The untimely de@th of the matriarch occurred in 2007, and this article tells you everything you need to know about her.

Donda West Cause of De@th

Donda, who had just had plastic surgery the day before she died, passed away unexpectedly on November 10, 2007. After her de@th, it was determined that post-operative complications contributed to heart failure.

Including liposuction, a waist tuck, and a breast reduction, West’s mom had plastic surgery. After the surgery, she decided to rest at home.

According to the postmortem report, Donda “experienced a sore throat, pain and tightening in her chest, before collapsing in the early evening” the day following her cosmetic treatments.

In an interview with Q magazine, West revealed that he has been struggling with his sadness since his mother’s de@th and that he believes she would still be alive if he hadn’t begun his music career.

When asked what he had sacrificed in his life for success he told Q: “My mum. If I had never moved to Los Angeles, she’d be alive… I don’t want to go far into it because it will bring me to tears.”

Who Was Kanye West’s Mother Donda?

Donda West’s mother spent 24 of her 31 years teaching at Chicago State University’s English, Communications, Media, and Theater Department.

After she and West’s father, Ray, split up when he was three, she brought him up on her own in Chicago.

West’s mother relocated from Chicago to Los Angeles in 2004 to become his full-time “momager” when her son’s music career took off.

Donda reminisced on the first time she heard her son’s music in her book Raising Kanye: Life Lessons from the Mother of a Hip-Hop Superstar.

Of his debut album “The College Dropout,” per El Pais, she wrote: “I sat in the parking lot and listened to the whole CD. I couldn’t pull off. I wanted to be still and take it all in.

“I sat there, listening halfway holding back tears— halfway jamming. I had the music turned up real loud. I wanted to open my window and scream to everybody walking by, ‘Hey, this is my kid!'”

In 2004, West said of Donda in an interview with MTV: “This is my mother. I love her. She is my best friend in the whole world.

“My mother let me work on music, she helped me out, she used to drive me to the studio. She was really my first manager. She’s still my general manger.”

West has dedicated two albums to Donda, and he played the song “Hey Mama” in front of her on The Oprah Winfrey Show in 2005.

Donda West was frequently spotted at her son’s events, and she was instrumental in his founding the Kanye West Foundation in 2003, which supports his mission to provide free music lessons to kids from low-income families.

In 2008, after his mother’s passing in 2007, West renamed the organization in her honor as the Dr. Donda West Foundation; he shut it down the following year.
