“At about 11 a.m. ET on Saturday (March 25, 2023), our beloved actress Elizabeth Olsen passed away. Elizabeth Olsen was born on February 16, 1989 in Sherman Oaks. She will be missed but not forgotten. Please show your sympathy and condolences by commenting on and liking this page.”
After the news of the death of the brilliant 34-year-old actress and singer, hundreds of followers went to the Facebook page to express their grief. The death fake caused the typical frenzy on Twitter.
Some admirers took the tweet at its value, while others were instantly wary, possibly having learned their lesson from the flood of phony celebrity death rumors that have emerged in recent months. Several people pointed out that the story hadn’t been covered by any major US network, which would be unusual for the death of a famous actress like Elizabeth Olsen.
Eighty-one percent of respondents to a recent Celebrity Post survey agreed that it was humorous that reports about Elizabeth Olsen’s death were incorrect.
