Florida Police Officer Injured in High-Speed Chase Sustains Two Gunshot Wounds

After following two suspects early on Saturday morning, a Florida police officer was shot twice, according to authorities.

According to NBC station WTVJ, at around 3:15 a.m. in Hollywood, Florida, the Golden Beach Police Department and Sunny Isle Police Department were pursuing a stolen car.

Authorities claimed that after losing control of their car on Hallandale Boulevard, the suspects fled on foot.

Golden Beach Sgt. Joseph Bautista was shot twice in the arm while pursuing the suspects, according to WTVJ.

Bautista was transferred to Memorial Regional Hospital after escaping the gunfire. The two suspects are currently being held in custody.
