Florida Teen Brings Gun to School While Possibly Under the Influence

According to authorities, a Florida kid was detained for bringing a gun onto the grounds of his high school.

According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, the 16-year-old teenager and two other Tavares High School students were removed from a class on Monday because they seemed to be under the influence of drugs.

The assistant principal informed a school resource deputy that a little black bag found during a search of the teen’s backpack was thought to contain a gun. According to an arrest record, the SRO found a Remington Arms R51 9mm when he opened the bag.

The report states, “No ammunition or magazine was inserted, however one magazine with six 9mm rounds was in the black bag with the pistol.

The student has been charged with having a weapon on school grounds, concealing it, and having a weapon in their possession while still a minor (under 18).
