There are only a few months left until the long-awaited release of Indiana Jones 5, and to celebrate, a brand-new trailer has been released.
Lucasfilm released the second teaser for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny at the Star Wars Celebration, providing a glimpse into Indy’s final quest, which appears to entail some time travel.
We used the word “final” because Harrison Ford has been very clear that this is the last film he will ever do. “I just thought it would be nice to see one where Indiana Jones was at the end of his journey,” he remarked, explaining his choice to make a comeback.
When Indiana Jones 5 is released, it will have been 15 years since the release of Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. The teaser gives hope that the anticipation is well-placed by presenting a stellar ensemble and the return of fan favorites.
While we wait, here’s all you need to know about Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, also known as the Dial of Destiny.
Indiana Jones 5 Release Date
It would be an understatement to say that making Indiana Jones 5 has been everything from smooth. The release date for the sequel has changed several times, and the project has gone through several writers. New information suggests that June 30, 2023, will be the official release date for Indiana Jones 5.

After years of delays and uncertainty, the June 30, 2023 date for the release of Indiana Jones 5, announced at the Cannes premiere, is now officially fixed in stone. The latest information on Indiana Jones 5 has also indicated the film will be the longest in the series at 2 hours and 22 minutes and will be classified PG-13.
Disney’s plan for the release of Indiana Jones 5 went awry, as the film has been met with widespread critical acclaim that has been overwhelmingly negative. The premiere occurred five weeks before the film’s June 30 release date, giving potential audiences plenty of time to discuss the film’s poor reviews.
Given that the film needs to gross over $800 million to turn a profit, this is a major concern. The review aggregate will likely have a negative effect, as the film’s score on Rotten Tomatoes is even lower than that of the polarizing Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
Trailer for Indiana Jones 5
The latest and longest trailer for the film was released on April 7, 2023, at the Star Wars event in London. It gives viewers a glimpse into the tale and Indy’s bond with his goddaughter Helena (Phoebe Waller-Bridge). See for yourself down below:
Ford was digitally de-aged to look younger in flashback sequences, and this was shown in the first teaser, which was shown at Brazil Comic-Con 2022.
In December 2022, a second trailer was published, providing viewers a glimpse of Jones’s reluctant return to action as he searches the globe for long-lost artifacts.
The footage also includes views of a young Ford in the opening flashback sequence, as well as a number of other cast members such as Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelsen, and Boyd Holbrook.
During the Super Bowl on February 12th, 2023, a second trailer was released, providing viewers a glimpse of a tense showdown between Indy and the movie’s villain, Voller (Mikkelsen). Here’s what you should do:
Who is in the Cast of Indiana Jones and the Fates of the World?
It’s true that Harrison Ford will reprise his role as Indiana Jones, but he won’t be the only familiar face from prior films. Along with Indy, John Rhys-Davies is making a return appearance as Sallah, the “best digger in Egypt” and a close friend of Indy’s. Indiana Jones 5 will also introduce a large number of new characters to the series.
A number of notable actors are featured in the film, including lead actress Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag) as Indy’s goddaughter Helena, antagonist former Nazi turned NASA asset Jürgen Voller (Mads Mikkelsen; Another Round); Shaunette Renee Wilson (The Resident); government agent Mason (Boyd Holbrook; Logan); and supporting actor Basil (Toby Jones; Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy).

Renaldo, Indy’s friend, will be played by Antonio Banderas (The Mask of Zorro), while the wicked Colonel Weber will be played by Thomas Kretschmann (Avengers: Age of Ultron). Olivier Richters (Black Widow) is also listed as a cast member, but his role has not been revealed.
The good news is that John Williams, who composed the iconic theme and scored the first four Indiana Jones films, will return to the soundtrack on the fifth. Without him, the series would suffer greatly.
