Insidious 5 Release Date Confirmed for the Latest Chapter in the Franchise

With the first trailer for Insidious 5 out, horror fans can get a taste of what to expect this summer. Star Patrick Wilson will make his directing debut with the fifth film, which was announced in October 2020.

Wilson has the full faith of returning producer James Wan, who is anticipating great things from the sequel. “I’m super excited for what Patrick’s doing with Insidious,” he said to The Hollywood Reporter.

“Patrick reminds me a little bit of Leigh Whannell in that they are not just actors slash whatever; they are filmmakers as well. They’re film buffs, and being film buffs, they look at acting from the point of view of what the final film will be like.

“And so that actually helps inform them as filmmakers. So I’m always very excited when people like Leigh Whannell and Patrick Wilson want to jump behind the camera.”

Scott Teems (Halloween Kills) penned the script for Insidious 5, which was based on a story by franchise co-creator Leigh Whannell. When we go back to The Further, what else can we expect to find there?

This is a complete guide to Insidious 5, also known as Insidious: The Red Door.

Insidious 5 Release Date

On July 7, 2023, theatres will debut Insidious 5: The Red Door.

Production ended in August 2022, therefore finishing on schedule should allow for a November 2022 release. Wilson marked the end of filming with an Instagram picture last year.

James Wan, a producer on several of Wilson’s films, spoke highly of him as a director in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

“Well, we all love Patrick… one of the things I love best about working with Patrick Wilson is that we don’t actually talk about the movie that we are making on set. We geek out about all the movies that we loved growing up, because Patrick and I are roughly of the same generation.

“We’re just constantly geeking out about John Carpenter’s Big Trouble in Little China and all these movies. Patrick reminds me a little bit of Leigh Whannell in that they are not just actors slash whatever; they are filmmakers as well.

“They’re film buffs, and being film buffs, they look at acting from the point of view of what the final film will be like. And so that actually helps inform them as filmmakers. So I’m always very excited when people like Leigh Whannell and Patrick Wilson want to jump behind the camera.”
