Angeline Brown gave birth to Angie Dickinson on September 30, 1931, in Kulm, North Dakota. She grew up in a devoutly Catholic family with Mary Lou Lee and Janet Lee. Their parents, Fredericka and Leo, also raised Mary Lou and Janet Lee. She worked as a secretary at what was then called Lockheed Air Terminal and is now called Bob Hope Airport in Burbank while she went to college. In 1954, she got a degree in business.
Angie got a spot on “The Jimmy Durante Show” after coming in second at a local Miss America contest preliminary. She was in “Lucky Me” in 1954 and “Tennessee’s Partner,” “The Return of Jack Slade,” “Tension at Table Rock,” “Gun the Man Down,” and “Cry Terror!” in the years that followed.
Dickinson appeared in the 1960 movie “Ocean’s Eleven” with Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., and Peter Lawford.
