According to representatives of the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office, Scanlan later spat on the yarmulke, tossed it again, and struck the victim.
A second store patron emerged to assist the woman, but Scanlan allegedly insulted her, snatched her smartphone, and threw her to the ground. The victim’s elbow received only little damage.
Scanlan escaped the scene but was subsequently apprehended. He is charged with two charges of robbery and two counts of violence against a senior citizen.
