Actor, comedian, and producer Jim Carrey was born in Canada. On January 17, 1962, Jim Carrey entered the world in Newmarket, Ontario, Canada. Both his parents worked full-time; she was a housewife and he worked in accounting. At the age of twelve, Jim’s family was thrown into poverty when his father lost his job. To make ends meet, the whole family moved into a van and took overnight jobs as janitors and security guards at a local factory. Jim, then a teenager would often work an eight-hour shift at the factory after a full day of classes.
