Julia Stiles Sells Gramercy Apartment for $2.7 Million
Julia Stiles has sold the belongings from her Gramercy apartment months after relocating to the East Village. Public documents reveal that the actress from “10 Things I Hate About You” and “The Bourne Identity” received $2.7 million for the three-bedroom apartment located at 310 E. 15th St.
After deciding it was time for a change of scenery, she put the home on the market for $3.5 million last year and has since downsized to a one-bedroom apartment on the east side.
I’m quite happy with the results. Downsizing. Simplifying. I gave away a lot of my possessions. She told the Associated Press in July that it was “like shedding your skin.”
In order to make room for the relocation, she gave up many of her possessions, including books, furniture, and even her piano. In 2003, Stiles’s father paid close to $2 million to purchase her a Gramercy apartment in a small six-unit 20th-century brownstone.
Douglas Elliman broker William Postrion, who represented Stiles in the sale, remained mum. The three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bathroom apartment is 2,081 square feet and features a rooftop terrace with views of Stuyvesant Sq., two fireplaces (one gas and one wood), and central heating and air conditioning.
