HealthDay News — WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 7, 2022 — Justin Bieber, a singer, said on Tuesday that he will stop touring to take care of his health.
Ramsay Hunt syndrome, an uncommon form of viral illness, is Bieber’s ailment. The illness, which is brought on by the varicella-zoster virus, which also causes chickenpox and shingles, can paralyse the facial nerve and cause an itchy rash behind the ear.
In a message published on his Instagram account, Bieber said, “Earlier this year, I went public about my struggle with Ramsay-Hunt Syndrome, where my face was mostly paralysed. “Due to this illness, I was unable to finish the Justice Tour’s North American leg.
“I travelled to Europe to finish the tour after taking some time to recover and talking to my physicians, family, and team. I put on six live performances, but it was very taxing for me “Justin stated. After that, on September 4, he performed at the Rock in Rio music festival in Brazil.
“I was so worn out as I left the stage that I immediately understood I had to put my health first. Consequently, I’m going to stop touring for the time being “Justin remarked.

In a statement, Bieber’s tour promoter, AEG Presents, stated that the singer was “upbeat about his recuperation.”
The musician, who is 28 years old, originally revealed in June that he had been given the diagnosis and posted a video of his face on Instagram.
At the time, he remarked, “I wanted to update you guys on what’s been going on. “I have this illness called Ramsay Hunt syndrome, as you can certainly see by my face. My facial nerves and ear nerves are also being attacked by this infection, which has paralysed my face.”
Added, “This eye is not blinking, as you can see. On this side of my face, I am unable to grin. This nostril is immobile. So, the entire side of my face is completely paralysed.”
According to Dr Anna Pace, a neurologist at the Mount Sinai Center for Headache and Facial Pain in New York, infection with the virus can also impair the cranial nerve, which controls hearing and balance.
According to Pace, further symptoms include ear pain, ringing in the ears, vertigo, dizziness, or sensitivity to sound.
Following therapy with steroids or antiviral drugs, the majority of patients make a full recovery in three to four months. It’s far more difficult to recover without treatment. According to NBC News, extreme cases can result in lifelong paralysis, damaged facial nerves, facial asymmetry, and eye impairment.
According to Bieber, he was “honoured” to be able to share his presentation and “message of justice” with the entire world on Tuesday.
“I’m going to be ok, but I need time to rest and get better,” he wrote.
