Week 2: Kansas City Chiefs vs. Los Angeles Chargers

First-ever Thursday Night Football on Amazon will feature a great matchup between the Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers. The next ten years are going to be dominated by the Mahomes-Herbert showdown. If the Chargers can defeat the Chiefs on Sunday, they’ll be well on their way to making their first post-Philip Rivers playoff appearance. The Chiefs aren’t going to lose their home opener in prime time, which is bad news for the Chargers.

Week 3: Kansas City Chiefs at Indianapolis Colts

Many Chiefs fans worried about facing this squad in the first round of the postseason last year before the Colts blew up and didn’t even make it into the playoffs at all. In Indianapolis, the quarterback position has been vacated by Carson Wentz in favour of Matt Ryan. Running back Jonathan Taylor will put the Kansas City Chiefs’ defensive line to the test. Overall, this game is going to go in favour of the Kansas City Chiefs. However, the score is going to be closer than the supporters would prefer.

Week 4: Kansas City Chiefs at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Everyone will be talking about Mahomes vs. Tom Brady and a rematch of Super Bowl LV. In a primetime Sunday Night Football battle on the road, it will be a tough game for the Chiefs. The defence will face its biggest test of the season too far and the Chiefs’ offence will be facing its toughest test as well. The Chiefs can win the game, no doubt. Although they’ll be 17-0 if I keep picking them to win every game, that’s a stretch. As a result, the Buccaneers come out on top in a tense game.

Week 5: Kansas City Chiefs vs. Las Vegas Raiders

There are two primetime games in a row for the Kansas City Chiefs! Monday Night Football at Arrowhead Stadium will be the first opportunity for Kansas City to watch Derek Carr and Devonte Adams face-to-face in action. Despite being a respectable squad, the Raiders will fall short of the victory they want in this scenario. Karlaftis and McDuffie will both make their first NFL interceptions, and Carr will have a classic meltdown as the Chiefs take care of business.

Week 6: Kansas City Chiefs vs. Buffalo Bills

“Unbreakable” was the word CBS used to describe this game. We should expect Tony Romo and Jim Nantz to go nuts as they watch Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen square off one more in Kansas City. For a whole week, Kansas City Chiefs supporters were able to call quarterback Mahomes the “Grim Reaper” before the nickname was officially retired.

Avenging last year’s epic 13-second comeback by the Chiefs, the Bills will be firing on all cylinders this time around. Even though the Bills thrashed the Chiefs at Arrowhead earlier in the season, it’s difficult to anticipate how this one will turn out. I think the Bills will come out on top in a close game.

Week 7: Kansas City Chiefs at San Francisco 49ers

There will be another Super Bowl rematch. This one dates back to the Patrick Mahomes era of Kansas City Chiefs football’s Super Bowl LIV.

The 2022 49ers have a few unanswered questions ahead of time. Even though the quarterback position was overachieved last season, doubts persist. Is Trey Lance on his way to being the NFL’s next big thing? Is he going to fight back? Currently, what’s going on with Jimmy Garoppolo? In this matchup, the Chiefs are expected to get their season back on track by winning a huge away game.

Week 8: BYE

During the bye week, Andy Reid is unbeatable. The Chiefs’ bye week falls in the first half of the season, but it’s still quite near to the middle of the season. Recharging and preparing for another postseason run are the goals of the Kansas City Chiefs at this time.

Week 9: Kansas City Chiefs vs. Tennessee Titans

The Titans felt like a fluke last season, and it ended in a home loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in the Divisional Round. However, they lost Derrick Henry for several weeks throughout the season, and he should be back to full strength this year. Ryan Tannehill will be harmed by the departure of AJ Brown. After a bye week and a primetime home game, the Chiefs have a great opportunity to beat the Titans at Arrowhead in the AFC West.

Week 10: Kansas City Chiefs vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

Doug Pederson and Andy Reid will be reunited as the Jaguars’ new head coach. When Pederson assumed the position in Kansas City, he was on Reid’s original staff as offensive coordinator, having worked together in Philadelphia. This season could be a step forward for the Jaguars, but they are still rebuilding. This time, the Chiefs will be too much for the Broncos to overcome.

Week 11: Kansas City Chiefs at Los Angeles Chargers

Last season, the Chiefs came within a touchdown of a loss against the Chargers on the road, but a spectacular catch and run by Travis Kelce gave the team a walk-off victory. However, I believe that the Chargers will finally gain their first home win over Mahomes’ Chiefs in the Mahomes era.

Week 12: Kansas City Chiefs vs. Los Angeles Rams

Los Angeles-based teams face each other twice a week. This will be FOX’s highlighted game of the week, and for good reason. It’s covered in pyrotechnics. The Rams prevailed 54-51 in the previous meeting between these two clubs. The Rams, the reigning Super Bowl champions, have a potent attack. Aaron Donald, the NFL’s greatest defensive player, and Jalen Ramsey, one of the league’s best cornerbacks, both play for the Saints.

We’ll know a lot more about the new Chiefs offence and its new offensive playmakers by the end of Week 12. Matthew Stafford has a history of throwing several interceptions, and I think the Chiefs can take advantage of that. At home, a victory over defending champions the Kansas City Chiefs is within reach.

Week 13: Kansas City Chiefs at Cincinnati Bengals

Playing back-to-back games versus the Super Bowl champions? This is a demanding schedule, to say the least. I believe that the Chiefs will win this game, both in my head and in my heart. The Bengals have beaten the Chiefs twice in the last two seasons, and both times the Chiefs dominated the first half before losing the game in the second half. If you can trick me once, twice, or three times in a row, you’ve got me picking the Bengals to win this game.

Week 14: Kansas City Chiefs at Denver Broncos

Another matchup where I’d like to think the Broncos will come out on top here is this one. I think Sunday Night Football in Denver is a match where the winning streak could come to an end. Despite the addition of Russell Wilson and a new head coach, I expect the same results. There’s no reason to bet against the Chiefs as long as Mahomes is on a winning streak versus the Broncos.

Week 15: Kansas City Chiefs at Houston Texans

Three December road games in Houston conclude. The first two games are possible, but I’m most confident that the Chiefs will win their final game of the tour. The Texans are still rebuilding and we’ll see what Lovie Smith does with this collection of guys. Regardless, would still anticipate a double-digit win for the Chiefs

Week 16: Kansas City Chiefs vs. Seattle Seahawks

When I was a kid growing up in Seattle, the Seahawks were my favourite sports team, so this Christmas Eve special brought back fond memories. For those who remember the Seahawks as a previous AFC West foe, it’s a journey down memory lane. If you’re a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, I’m sure this game will bring back memories for you and it’ll be a good one to watch.

Week 17: Kansas City Chiefs vs. Denver Broncos

Until the Broncos beat the Chiefs in Denver, I don’t see that occurring, as I noted in the prior Broncos-Chiefs preview. On New Year’s Day, there may be a little hangover, but I think the players will be raring to go and keep up their winning streak against their division foe.

Week 18: Kansas City Chiefs at Las Vegas Raiders

The Chiefs are unbeaten in Las Vegas, and this game, the Chiefs’ 18th overall, might have significant postseason ramifications. The AFC West might be at stake, as well as the AFC’s only bye and seeding in the playoffs. A wild-card berth could be at stake for both teams, depending on the outcome of the season. There will be bloodshed. Whenever in doubt, go with Mahomes. As if that wasn’t enough, Harrison Butker is a game-winner.

I know that there is a lot that may happen between now and Week 1. There will be changes to the rosters as the season progresses. Any team’s season could be derailed by an injury, but some are more damaging than others.

One of the most difficult schedules ever put together by the Kansas City Chiefs in the history of the National Football League. The best-case scenario for the Kansas City Chiefs is expected to be a 13-4 regular-season record. Several of these contests are in the balance. If they lose half of the toss-up games instead of winning them, they’ll be closer to 9-8 than my estimate would have them. After the release of the schedule, their over/under victory total was set at 10.5 victories.

If the team hopes to win the AFC West and return to the AFC Championship for a fifth straight season, it has a lot of work ahead of it. It’s hard to bet against the Chiefs if they play at the level they are capable of if they continue to build on what they’ve already accomplished.
