This year’s Love Island has already gotten off to an exciting start, with the villa doors having been opened and the latest season well underway.
There is a brand-new villa on Love Island 2022 for the hopeful lovebirds to find love or heartbreak, but the firepit is still the place to be for all of the high drama that we have come to expect from the show.
Remi, a 22-year-old model and rapper, and Jay, a 28-year-old financial adviser and the ex-boyfriend of one of the candidates, have joined the cast, and more are on the way.
Even though the show has only been running for a little over a week, if you’re wondering who has already been kicked off Love Island, there are a few names on the list.

Love Island 2022 Start Date
Love Island season 8 premiered on ITV2 and ITVHub at 9 pm on Monday, June 6th.
“Here’s your first hot date of the summer,” ITV tweeted on May 24th, announcing the start date of the 2022 season.
How long is Love Island on for?
The average episode lasts an hour and a half, although major events like recouplings, Casa Amor, and final dates may cause the length to increase.

What Time Does Love Island Start Tonight?
Every night at 9 p.m., ITV2 will broadcast Love Island, except Saturdays, when a rerun of the best moments will be shown.

As of right now, there’s no official word on when Season 8 will come to a close, but it’s safe to assume that it will end around August 1st, with the finale taking place on a Monday.

Who Stars in Love Island 2022?
On Monday, May 30th, ITV revealed the first cast of Love Island 2022, just one week before the new season premieres.
Two fresh surprises were unveiled on Tuesday, June 7th.

Additionally, Love Island’s 2021 season featured its first-ever disabled contestant. Season 7 featured Hugo Hammond, a PE teacher who was born with Talipes, a condition in which a baby’s feet point down and inward at birth.
Including gay candidates, however, was a logistical challenge that ITV had previously stated.
How will Love Island 2022 be Different?
The format for Love Island 2022 is set to be similar to prior years. A huge shift, however, is expected for the 2022 season, as one of the show’s regulars is expected to be dropped.
Love Island’s iconic food challenges are the centerpiece of this season’s revamp, with competitors sliding food into each other’s mouths to form a fast becoming a staple of each season. Even if previous food challenges have been entertaining, it appears that they are coming to an end.
Asked about the issue, “Can you stop making people spit food into each other’s mouths?” on Reddit on May 25, executive producer Mike Spencer replied, “Yes.” This is the end of food challenges as we have known them, he said. In other words, there will be no more “mushy” roast meals.
“We have publicized our duty of care protocols very publicly,” he continued, “and we have an excellent welfare team on the series.”
We’ll have to wait and see if any additional modifications are made (luckily, there isn’t much time to wait!).
