EA has released Madden NFL 24, offering football fans their yearly fix of the best NFL simulator available. According to senior design director Connor Dougan’s interview with GameSpot, the focus this year is on “foundational football,” which means a wide range of gameplay elements.
In addition, the fan-favorite Superstar mode is back, with a renewed focus on developing your own NFL athlete over the course of a whole career, and several new features for Franchise players to enjoy. Learn the ins and outs of Madden 24 right here!
Madden 24 Release Date
The release of Madden 24 has been set for August 18th. This is the day on which all platforms will have access to the game; unlike many video games, it is unlikely to be delayed.

Additionally, there is an early availability date. On August 15th, if you preorder the Deluxe edition of the game, you can begin playing. Those who pay for EA Play have access to the same content.
With an EA Play subscription, you can save 10% on games and in-game purchases for $4.99 a month or $29.99 a year. Play Pro, available from EA, costs $14.99 monthly or $99.99 annually.
Trailer for Madden 24
On the morning of Wednesday, June 7th, EA released the Madden 24 trailer to the public. A video of it in its entirety is provided here.
Madden 24’s costs have not been announced, although it is likely that there will be a premium for those who own a PlayStation 5 or Xbox One S/X.
In addition, players should keep an eye out for any pre-release playable special versions of the game. The All-Madden edition of Madden 23 cost $99.99 last year and gave players access to the whole game three days before its official release. Users who purchased the Madden 22 MVP or Dynasty versions in 2021 also had access to the game early.
Superstar Mode is Back in Madden 24
In Madden 24, the mode that Face of the Franchise supplanted has been removed and replaced with the original game mode. Dougan assured me that reverting to the name Superstar mode wasn’t done out of a sense of nostalgia alone.
“For the past few years, we’ve approached Face of the Franchise with a ‘What can it really be?’ mentality. Dougan continued, “And we were like, ‘Well, it can be a modernized version of Superstar, and we felt like we want to switch that name, but we didn’t want to switch it until it’s right.”

The players’ draft stock will be affected by the Superstar they make and the Combine drills they take part in. After joining a squad, you’ll receive more in-game feedback via a grading system that sounds a lot like NBA 2K’s MyPlayer system.
“If you’re throwing into coverage, or if you’re a DB and you’re not covering a guy, you get that moment-to-moment feedback,” Dougan explained to me. Superstar Showdown is an updated version of The Yard where users may take their Superstar and compete in 3v3 or 6v6 online games against other players. The game’s new tiered skills sound a lot like NBA 2K’s renowned badge system.
