Last Saturday, a man was shot and killed in New City on the South Side.
On May 27, about 1:20 a.m., Chicago police discovered Mauro Coss, 25, inside a car in the 1400 block of West 49th Street with a gunshot wound to the head.

According to authorities, Coss was transported in serious condition to the University of Chicago Medical Center. According to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office, he passed away three days later.
