Christopher Nolan’s Film Oppenheimer Release Date, Trailer, and Who is In The Cast?

Mass-market megahit Oppenheimer is Christopher Nolan’s most ambitious film to date. Here’s the latest on the film’s star-studded cast, synopsis, trailer, release date, and more as its premiere approaches.

Almost three years have passed since Tenet was released, and Nolan is already planning his next big thing: a period piece about the Manhattan Project, the World War II nuclear effort directed by J. Robert Oppenheimer.

We can’t wait to see how he depicts the development of the atomic bomb on the big screen because the director is notorious for minimizing the use of computer-generated imagery in favor of crafting spectacular set pieces.

Here is everything we know about the film before it is released.

Oppenheimer Release Date

On July 21, you may see Oppenheimer in theaters (for the first time). It’s a nice bit of timing that Christopher Nolan’s film comes out on the same day as Barbie, directed by Greta Gerwig.

The tweet below shows the release date of the film:

A Variety interview with Cannes Film Festival director Thierry Fremaux suggested that the release of Oppenheimer would be delayed until the end of the year, but Fremaux and other outlets have since confirmed that the film will be released on July 21 as planned.

Trailer for Oppenheimer

On December 18th, 2022, the first official trailer for Oppenheimer was released. You may view it here:

On May 8, 2023, a second trailer was released, promising a hair-raising adventure and the participation of one Florence Pugh. You may view it here:

CinemaCon attendees in April 2023 got a sneak peek at the longer clip. According to IGN, the trailer hints to “Russian spies” and “the end of the world,” while also providing “a closer look at how the film switches between IMAX and Black & White IMAX,” with the film’s color scenes taking place during World War II and its black and white scenes taking place at later times.

The film’s director, Christopher Nolan, addressed the crowd in a speech before the showing, declaring, “Like it or not, J. Robert Oppenheimer is the most important person who has ever lived.” Both a dream and a nightmare coexist in this tale. It doesn’t provide simple solutions.
