On December 14, 1946, Patty Duke entered this world in Manhattan, New York.
Two Golden Globes, an Oscar, a plaque on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and three Primetime Emmys were just some of the honors bestowed upon Patty for her work in film.

Patty’s amazing career ended in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, on March 29, 2016, when she passed away.
According to USA Today, one of Patty’s representatives confirmed her de@th and provided a statement reading, “Anna ‘Patty Duke’ Pearce passed away this morning, March 29, 2016, at 1:20 am.”
He elaborated, saying, “She died of sepsis because her gut ruptured. She had several roles in society, including that of wife, mother, grandmother, friend, champion for mental health, and cultural figure. We shall miss her.

What is Sepsis?
Sepsis is a life-threatening reaction to an infection in the body. It’s a serious medical emergency that could end in de@th. Sepsis develops when an existing infection sets off a cascade of damaging events throughout the body.
The most common sites of infection that progress to sepsis are the lungs, urinary tract, skin, and gut. Rapid tissue damage, organ failure, and de@th can result from sepsis if it is not treated promptly.

Patty Duke’s Four Marriages and Where She Lived With Her Fourth Husband Before Passing Away
Patty had four marriages before she passed away. She was married to Harry Falk, her first husband, from 1965 to 1969.
In 1970 and 1971, she was married to Michael Tell, her second husband.
John Astin was the third man she married. They wed in 1972 and called it quits in 1985. She had been married to him since 1986 until her de@th in 2016.
While Patty was still living, they made their home in Idaho.
Duke passed away in a hospital in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, where she and her fourth husband, Michael Pearce, had lived for the past quarter-century.
