PnB Rock: Suspected Robbery Leads to Shooting Death of Rapper at LA Waffle House

US rapper PnB Rock was shot and killed at a Los Angeles restaurant during an apparent robbery.

The 30-year-old singer and his girlfriend were eating at a waffle café in the city’s southeastern part when a shooter entered and, according to reports, demanded jewelry before opening fire.

PnB was found by police with multiple gunshot wounds; 45 minutes later, he was pronounced dead at the hospital.

To this day, nobody has been taken into custody in connection with the incident that occurred on Monday.

Death of Rapper

Captain Kelly Muniz of the Los Angeles Police Department stated that a man approached a couple inside Roscoe’s House of Chicken & Waffles and demanded that they hand over their belongings.

As she explained to reporters on the scene, this sparked “some type of verbal exchange” before the victim was shot many times and collapsed.

She continued by saying that the suspect “took goods from the victim” before sprinting to a waiting getaway car and driving away.

It has been reported by US media that law enforcement officials have revealed the rapper was the intended victim of the attack.

PnB Rock (real name: Rakim Hasheem Allen), who became famous after the release of his 2016 single Selfish and who had worked with musicians like Ed Sheeran, has subsequently received numerous heartfelt tributes from fans and colleagues alike.

Rapper Offset paid tribute to PnB on Twitter, and superstar Drake shared a photo of the two on his Instagram story, asking fans to pray for PnB’s two kids.

Others have pointed out that the shooting comes after the loss of fellow rapper Pop Smoke, who was shot dead in a Hollywood Hills burglary in February.

The theory is that his assailants learned his whereabouts from a social media post he made which he inadvertently included it.

An Instagram snapshot of PnB and his companion has been interpreted as potentially revealing their whereabouts, which has sparked concerns for the safety of rappers in light of the recent incident.

Popular hip-hop YouTuber DJ Akademiks claims to have interviewed the rapper about an earlier robbery attempt just a week ago.

Nicki Minaj remarked that the death of rapper Pop Smoke had made other rappers more aware of the need to watch their surroundings.

Cardi B, on the other hand, took a different stance and issued a challenge to those who had placed blame on PnB Rock’s girlfriend Stephanie Sibounheuang for uploading the photo.

She wrote that it was “irresponsible and disrespectful” to hold Stephanie responsible for “something so awful” and that it was “very unlikely” that the suspects had traced them online.

He released two albums, Catch These Vibes and Trapstar Turnt PopStar, after his 1991 birth in Philadelphia.

His most recent single, “Luv Me Again,” came out only two days before the tragedy.
