On September 14, 2022, at around 7:15 p.m., an officer with the EPS Main Collision Investigations Part was performing visitor enforcement in a building zone between Terwillegar Drive northbound and 37 Avenue when a purple Honda bike struck him. The officer was struck while attempting to signal for the bike to drag over. Later, the bike took off north on Terwillegar Drive from the area.
EMS reacted, took care of the situation, and took the officer to the hospital where he is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Anyone who may have seen the collision or has information about the bike is asked to contact the police. A different MCIS staff member is currently conducting the investigation.

The bike is characterised as a purple, gold-rimmed 2005–2006 Honda CBR 600RR. The text below includes images.
The inquiry is still ongoing, thus Terwillegar Drive remains closed between Rabbit Hill Street and 40 Avenue. Drivers are urged to steer clear of the area and look for alternate routes.
The pace is taken into account as an element of this collision.
