Resident Evil 2

People liked how Resident Evil 2 looked, how it played, and how true it was to the first game. It won a lot of awards, including the 2019 Golden Joystick Award for Ultimate Game of the Year. As of 2022, it has sold more than 10 million copies, which is more than the first Resident Evil 2. It was followed by Resident Evil 3, which came out in 2020.

Resident Evil 2: Gameplay

Resident Evil 2 is played the same way as the first game. The graphics of the game are made up of polygonal models of characters and items that are put on top of pre-rendered graphics with fixed camera angles. In order to finish the game, the player has to go to many different places, solve puzzles, and fight many mutated creatures.

The players can arm themselves with different kinds of guns, but there isn’t much ammunition. Resident Evil 2 has a better graphics engine than its predecessor, which lets more zombies show up on-screen (up to seven at one point). Also, the player can now tell how healthy their character is by watching how they move and talk. When a character is in the “caution” stage of an injury, he or she will cover his or her stomach with a hand.

A character who is about to die will limp. This time, when the game is over, the screen shows the player’s character being eaten by the thing that killed him or her.

The “Zapping System,” which has two possible outcomes, is the main change to the game. As in the first Resident Evil, there are two characters you can play as, and each has their own story. But when the “A” game for one character is finished and the data is saved, the “B” game for the other character is unlocked and shows the same series of events from that character’s point of view.

What the player does in the first scenario changes what’s going on around them in the second scenario. Also, one character can go to a place in their “B” game that they wouldn’t normally be able to. There are four possible situations, and each character has two.

Just like in the original game, completing a scenario under certain conditions earns the player weapons that can be unlocked and other bonuses. A ranking system has been put in place that grades the player not only on how long it took to finish the game, but also on how many times it was saved and how many first-aid sprays were used.

You can also find and play several hidden minigames, such as “The 4th Survivor,” which features HUNK, and “The Tofu Survivor,” which is a parody and harder version of “The 4th Survivor.”
