A 15-year-old boy was picked up by police on December 8 on suspicion of first-degree robbery and first-degree assault. Search warrant documents say that the 15-year-old is also one of several teens who stole from and beat up a pharmacist at a South Hill Rite Aid on December 4.

In the downtown robberies, court documents say that around 6 p.m., four teenagers wearing ski masks and hoodies approached a man walking through Riverfront Park while wearing headphones. One of the teens put a gun to the man’s head and told him to empty his pockets and give them his phone and wallet or they would kill him.

After the man reported his phone stolen, it was said to have been found in the 1800 block of Ninth Avenue. The 15-year-old was found at the same address on Ninth Avenue.

About half an hour later, two men walked up to a man on Main Avenue near River Park Square and pulled out a box cutter, according to court documents.

The two told the man to give them everything in his pockets and the food he was carrying. After the man gave them the items, one of the alleged thieves cut his forehead with a box cutter.

Police said that a doctor took care of the injury on the spot.

Police said that investigators are working to find and identify more suspects, and it is possible that more charges will be brought.
