Stolen Car Crash in Florida Leaves 1 Dead and 6 Teens Injured, Authorities Report

Florida Highway Patrol reports that a crash early on Sunday between Dean Road and State Road 408 resulted in the death of a guy from Palm Coast and the hospitalization of six youths who were operating a stolen vehicle.

Around 4:30 a.m., the 23-year-old was driving a 2016 Toyota 4Runner eastbound on State Road 408 when he made a left turn onto Dean Road at a green signal. When a 15-year-old man operating a 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe ran a red light traveling south on Dean Road on Sunday, he struck the 23-year-old, who then struck a median and overturned, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

According to FHP, the 15-year-old driver and his five adolescent passengers were sent to Arnold Palmer Hospital and Orlando Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening wounds.

According to FHP, the 23-year-old male passed away there.

Orange County Sheriff’s Office reports that the 15-year-old’s 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe was reported stolen.

FHP is seeking to confirm the identification of the six teenagers as the inquiry is still continuing.
