Suspect Detained in Memorial Day Sh**ting in Hollywood, Florida

On Memorial Day, a sh**ting broke out along a busy beach boardwalk in Hollywood, Florida, injuring nine people, according to authorities, as onlookers fled for shelter.

According to Hollywood Police Department spokesman Deanna Bettineschi, officers arrived at the scene of the sh**ting at 6:42 p.m. and discovered nine victims with gunshot wounds. After getting treatment on the site, the nine victims were sent to Memorial Regional Hospital and Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital.

Six adults and three children were among the nine injured, according to Yanet Obarrio Sanchez, a representative for Memorial Healthcare System. She stated that all of the victims were in stable condition.

Five people between the ages of 25 and 65 were also hit, according to Bettineschi, along with four children between the ages of 1 and 17. She stated that while the others were stable, one was undergoing surgery late Monday. If a 17-year-old was treated as an adult by the hospital was not immediately evident.

According to early investigations, a confrontation between two groups “resulted in gunfire,” according to Bettineschi. Police claimed they were seeking further suspects after detaining one person of interest.

Videos shared Monday night on Twitter showed emergency medical personnel responding and helping numerous injured persons. People were also seen fleeing the scene on a live camera.
