Three Critically Injured Following House Explosion in Pigtown: Tuesday afternoon, a house exploded and collapsed in Pigtown, leaving three people in critical condition. One of the occupants of the house was quoted as saying, “I heard the explosion and thought it was an earthquake so I just came out here and the whole house was the fire.”

“As my employer and I were heading up the boulevard, we noticed people rushing over into the park over here, and as we got to the corner, I saw that the wall had collapsed.” “When my employer and I were coming up the boulevard, we saw people fleeing over toward the park over here.” “As my employer and I were making our way up the boulevard, we observed a group of individuals sprinting over toward the park that is located over here.”

Roy Lee, who was driving by at the time of the incident, remarked that the scene appeared to be “like an explosion amid the residence.” I hurried over there, and when I got there, I saw fire streaming out the front of the home, and then all of a sudden, it sounded like there was an explosion in the center of the house. ” According to Assistant Chief Roman Clark of the Fire Department of Baltimore City, there were three people who were injured and are currently in serious condition. In total, there were three people present: a lady in her 16th year, a woman in her 48th year, and a guy in his 70th year.

As soon as the explosion occurred, the man who had been standing outside the house entered it and sought to rescue the woman and the adolescent. Unfortunately, the structure eventually collapsed on top of him as he was trying to save the two people inside. Both of the women showed signs of having sustained burn injuries across a variety of their bodies. According to Clark, both of them were transported to the burn center, and the male patient was transferred to the shock trauma unit. Clark claimed that as a consequence of the collapse, a gas line had been broken; nonetheless, they had been successful in bringing the situation under control.

Charlene Sola, who lives only down the street from where the explosion took place, alleges that the incident has made her fear for her safety, even though she was not at home when the explosion took place.

BGE has issued a statement indicating that the utility service to the house that exploded as well as the house next door has been disconnected.

Within the same statement, BGE also confirmed that the gas main that services the 1100 block of Bayard Street had undergone and completed upgrades in October. These adjustments were certified to have been completed.

At this point, the investigation into what may have caused the explosion is still ongoing.
