The bodies of three missing rap artists were recovered in an abandoned Highland Park apartment complex, and police have confirmed their identities.
A man from Detroit was taken into custody in Knoxville, Tennessee, on Friday morning for questioning in the shooting deaths of three aspiring rappers. He was arrested for a parole violation and is being detained in that area. Also, just this past week, another man was arrested in Detroit and taken in for questioning in connection with the case.
The news was not what the relatives of the missing wanted to hear, but they had been anticipating the worst.
As much as I love him and want him to be okay, I know in my gut, my heart, he’s done,” said Armani Kelly’s mother, Lorrie Kemp.
Sadly, a mother’s instincts were correct; on Friday afternoon, Armani Kelly’s family received the news that his body had been discovered, together with that of his friends Dante Wicker and Montoya Givens.
Their frozen bodies were found a day earlier under garbage in a Highland Park apartment basement that had been overrun by rats.
According to 1st Lt. Mike Shaw of the Michigan State Police, “it looks like they were executed upstairs and then dumped in the basement.”
Police from the state of Michigan spent all day Friday searching the apartment complex on McNichols and Rosa Parks for clues to the murders.
All three young guys were last seen together on January 21st, on their way to a show on Detroit’s East Side that was ultimately postponed.

Shaw added, “I think we’re are headed in the right route, naturally, anyone who should know anything may give us a call we are more than happy to take suggestions.”
Last Monday, Warren police made an arrest in the case, charging a 15-year-old with burglary tools and possession of Armani Kelly’s SUV. The teen was remanded into custody.
After conducting their own investigation, Detroit police arrived at the murder location on Thursday and discovered the dead.

One individual was taken into custody in Knoxville early on Friday. Meanwhile, another individual has been arrested in the last week in Detroit and taken in for questioning.
On Friday, Major Crimes Unit investigators spent most of their time clearing the apartment complex where they had discovered the young men of any potential evidence.
