The Volusia Sheriff’s Office announced in a Facebook post on Thursday morning that an escaped prisoner who left a work release camp in Brevard County last week is back in law enforcement custody.
According to the post, the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force and Volusia sheriff’s officers captured Nathan Barker, 20, in the New Smyrna Beach region.

Other information was not immediately made public.
Barker was reportedly on his way to his home county of Volusia after leaving the Florida Department of Corrections work release facility in Sharpes.
He has a long criminal background, according to officials, including narcotics offenses and evading capture.
