After “Wednesday” became one of Netflix’s most popular shows, the streaming service announced its renewal through Twitter on January 6. The message read, “It’s official: Season 2 of Wednesday is coming.” Now that we know a sequel to Wednesday is in the works, let’s take a look at what we know about the film’s returning cast members, release date, and more.

Wednesday Season 2 Release Date
Wednesday Season 2 has not yet been given a specific premiere date as of this writing.
However, it has been stated that producers are actively seeking new writing talent and production sites for a second season.
Actress Jenna Ortega has added her two cents to the conversation, telling Variety, “I have seen nothing and I know nothing [about season 2].” Maybe in the near future; they’re just now putting together a writers’ room.
Before last year’s $8.5 billion merger between Amazon Prime and MGM, which might have shifted the rights to Wednesday away from Netflix, there was considerable uncertainty as to which streaming site would house the second season.
Indiewire, however, has reported that the show will remain on Netflix.
Who Will Be Appearing in the Upcoming Season of “Wednesday?”
Even if there isn’t a confirmed cast list for Season 2 of Wednesday just yet, we can probably count on seeing:

Marylin Thornhill (Christina Ricci) may or may not return depending on the events of Season 2. Also, as death might not be the end of things at Nevermore, Larissa Weems (Gwendoline Christie) might come back as well.
Whether or if Tim Burton will direct any more episodes is also up in the air at this time. Although we would expect the director to return in some form.
Ortega, who plays the lead role, will also serve as a producer for the upcoming second season.
